Outdoor

Outdoor

Outdoor photographs allow me to capture dogs being themselves, showing their natural temperament, their true character and working abilities.

With local bluebells in Spring, endless Summer evenings, fabulous Autumn colours in the woods or Winter morning frost, I can always find a lovely setting for your dog's photoshoot. I use carefully chosen locations around North London and Hertfordshire, but I am equally happy to venture to your familiar location, regardless of distance.

Let's go for a walk together and I can capture your dogs being themselves: running, playing, working or just enjoying a peaceful moment together.

Studio

Studio

Classical photography with a background or in the interior setting with studio lighting is an artful way to capture your dog. My studio shots are everything from cheeky mischief to elegant and classic, perfect for creating a stunning piece of wall art for your home.

I love working with all sorts of dogs and spending time with them to capture their personality. Don’t worry if your dog is not perfectly trained, you’ll be amazed to know how many naughty dogs have turned out to be fabulous models.

I enjoy the opportunity to visit breeders and create very special photos of their litters at any age, from newborn to the moment when they are ready to go to their new homes.

FAQ

Can I reserve a session last minute?
Typically, session days are reserved a month or two in advance, so bookingearly is undoubtedly a distinct advantage. That said, rescheduling of sessions does happen which frees up slots. Please contact me, you never know.
Do you just photograph dogs?
Certainly. Although dogs account for approximately 90% of my client base, I’m more then happy to photograph cats, horses or any other creature for that matter.
Does it matter if my dog isn’t trained?
No, not-at-all. In fact, the majority of dogs I photograph are kept on their leads. There are numerous techniques that can be employed during the shoot to reduce the impact leads have in the scene and if a lead is still visible at the post-production stage, I can digitally remove it.You know what they say about working with kids and animals!! I find patience is the key. I’ve worked with all kinds of animals and once we’ve identified their particular idiosyncrasies we can use it to our advantage. ve photographed dogs with very different personalities. In all my sessions the wellbeing of the dog is paramount. If your dog is nervous of strangers I will make time to get to know them without getting any of my equipment out at the beginning of the session. If they don’t like the camera or flashes being in close proximity to them this isn’t a problem as I will simply put a longer lens on the camera and remove myself from their personal space. This will obviously restrict the types of shots that I can capture – but an unhappy dog makes for unhappy images. If your dog or pet is aggressive with strangers then this may be more problematic as I would not to put anyone at risk. This situation has not happened to date – we’d discuss possible options and agree a way forward, perhaps postponing the session until the problem can be resolved.
What should I bring along to the shoot?
Treats can be useful in certain situations. Please bear in mind however, that once your dog is aware that you have something tasty in your pockets, they may become obsessed and therefore attention is drawn away from the task in hand. sually ask people to bring along their dog(s) (obviously), leads, harnesses and the dogs favourite toy(s). A ball always comes in handy, as does a selection of training treats (I’ll have some with me in any event – but I will ask to make sure that your dog can tolerate the contents of my treat bag). As for the owners the most important thing is to have comfortable clothing and “sensible” footwear!
How far are you prepared to travel?
I have clients in the Highlands of Scotland and clients in Wales. Travelling is in my blood and I love to explore. How far I travel pretty much depends on the commitments I have at the time.
How much does it cost?
Answer
What happens after the photo session?
Once the photo session is complete I’ll process the photos selecting the best images to upload on to my website into a private password protected gallery. This will usually happen within two weeks of the photo shoot itself. Prior to uploading any images I will carry out basic Photoshop adjustments so that the images are displayed at their best. More intensive Photoshop work can take place (e.g. montages, cloning out leads or other unwanted distractions) – these can be discussed whilst your gallery is available for viewing. Once your gallery is live I will send you an e-mail giving you the name of your gallery plus the password you’ll need to access it. You may also want to create an account that you may find useful as you browse your images. I will only send the gallery details to the person named on the model release form – but if you would like to forward the details on to your friends and family there is no restriction! The gallery will remain accessible for one calendar month from the date of the e-mail. During this time you’ll have unlimited access to your images to browse, compare and select images to purchase. There are many different products that can be purchase – check out the prices page for inspiration.
I want to buy a present for a friend – do you do Gift Certificates?

About Me

  Background

I have loved dogs since I can remember and it bring me great joy to capture memories and special moments we share with our canine companions.

My fascination with photography started in early childhood when my father used to process film in my bedroom, using it as a darkroom.

My background in dog training, handling and showing, both as competitor and the judge, allows me to have a deeper understanding of the dogs and to build a closer connection during the photoshoots.
